Enrique Lacalle, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the 1st International Real Estate Symposium & Exposition Bucharest Meeting Point, organized by Barcelona Meeting Point, considers that the 1st edition of the Exhibition that closes its doors today “has turned out beyond all expectations; so many Spanish companies had never before crossed our borders for an international real estate meeting”.

Figures are spectacular and confirm it so:

• Symposium Participants 204
• Speakers 36
• Symposium Sessions 15

• Professionals Attendees and Symposium Participants 809
• Professionals Attendees 605
• Exhibiting Companies 34
• Participating Companies 307
• Spanish Companies 180
• International Companies 127
• Exhibiting Countries 18
• Registered Journalists 29

Enrique Lacalle says that BUMP 2008 figures confirm the Event as “the First Real Estate Symposium in Central Europe and a point of reference in the European Real Estate Industry . I do believe that, once again, we have served the real estate industry by creating a new meeting point where making contacts and business.”

Although it is very difficult to make an exact calculation, the estimate turnover of the real estate deals carried out in the duration of BUMP 2008 indicates that “real estate deals may exceed the 250 million euros though this figure may be defined in the next few months.”

Enrique Lacalle would like to highlight several aspects of BUMP 2008:

• First, the overall satisfaction of exhibitors, professionals, Symposium attendees, and national and international attendance.
• Second, BUMP 2008 has contributed to the bilateral relationship between Poland and Spain and between Spain and Central European countries.
• Third, BUMP 2008 has contributed to a fully hotel booking in the city thanks to its both national and international attendance, which has created business for the city of Bucharest in all industries: restaurants, commerce, leisure, etc.

El Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona —whose Executive President is Manuel Royes— currently organizes the first edition of Bucharest Meeting Point, which will take place from the 1st to the 3rd July at the JW Marriott Hotel in the Romanian capital, Barcelona Meeting Point, which this year celebrates its twelfth edition and will take place on November 4th – 9th, the International Logistics Show, which will be held on June 3rd-6th, both of them in Barcelona, and the International Air Meeting in Sabadell. The Special Delegate of the State at the CZFB confirms “the interest of the CZFB in supporting the internationalization of our companies through our meetings, which have been pioneers in crossing over frontiers”.

On the other hand, Enrique Lacalle, considers that “BUMP, the number of participants, businesses and contacts done at the event confirm the success of the initiative, and once again that the internationalization is a good business diversification tool making up for the current Spanish situation”.

In its first edition, Bucharest Meeting point has turned out the ultimate international real estate meeting point ever held in Central Europe. “It is a new BMP service to the industry”, says Enrique Lacalle. Finally, the Chairman of BUMP thanks all the authorities, national and international associations that collaborate with the Symposium, speakers, sponsors, “la Caixa”, Markinvest CP Holding, Nortia Corporation, Raiffeisen Bank-Holding AG, La Vanguardia, La Razón and el Economista, media partners such as Europe Real Estate, national and international participants, the media and the City of Bucharest for their cooperation and enthusiastic participation that has made possible the great success of this 1st International Real Estate Symposium & Exposition Bucharest Meeting Point.
